Cold Brew in Six

Cold Brew in Six

Rich, chocolate-y, almost cognac-like. That is our cold brew blend. Make it at home, come into the cafe and have one prepared by us, or get a growler full. Here’s how to do it at home.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • No. Six Depot No Ordinary Cold Brew beans
  • Water
  • 64 oz. Mason jar
  • Pourover or strainer and filter

The Steps

1: Grind 8 oz. of coffee course and fill a 1/2 gallon (64 oz.) Mason Jar almost full, like so, of room temperature water.

2: Pour the coffee grounds into the water and stir.

3: Stir until all grounds are in the water (it’s okay if they settle on the bottom). Cover and let sit for 18 hours on your countertop (no need to refrigerate).

4: After 18 hours, pour over a filter (any filter pressed into a strainer or colander will do. You just want to separate the grinds from the liquid.) Make sure to press on the grinds to release all the liquid you can.

5: You’ll end up with less liquid than you started with (what you’ve made is a VERY strong concentrate). Refill the last bit with water.

6: Store it in your refrigerator for up to 10 days without getting stale. Just pour over ice (feel free to add a bit of water if too strong) and add half and half and simple syrup if you so please.
